๐ง Watering: Water thoroughly when the pot is completely dry. Be careful not to overwater; the soil should be evenly moist but not soggy.
ย โ๏ธ Provide Proper Lighting: Place your new starter plant in a location with bright, indirect light. Avoid direct sunlight, as it can scorch the leaves. A south or east-facing window is often ideal.
ย ๐๏ธ Maintain Humidity: Maintain a humid environment around the pland. You can cover the plantย with a plastic bag or use a humidity dome to trap moisture during dry months (such as winter when running the heat).
๐ Monitor Growth: Keep an eye on the root systemย for signs of new growth. This process can take several weeks to a few months, depending on the plant species. Once the roots have started growing out of the bottom of the pot itโs time to repot into a larger container.
๐ชด Transplanting: Once the plant has grown outย ย of its current pot, you can transplant it into a larger pot with a standard potting mix. I prefer a chunky mix like Mollyโs aroid soil.
๐ Regular Care: Treat the starter plant like a mature plant, following its specific care requirements regarding watering, fertilizing, and light. I tend to pot my Hoyas in a succulent soil mix to prevent too much water retention (can lead to root rot).
๐ฌ Sometimes leaves may yellow or wilt during transit. There are no refunds for any damages incurred during shipment. As long as the root system is healthy the plant will put out new leaves in no time. If your plant arrives in very poor condition please send us an email within 24 hours so we can review and make things right for you!
