Cupid could make anyone fall in love with the prick of his arrow \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eand she instructed him to shoot Psyche and make her fall in love with a hideous and impoverished man. Far too often we repeat the cycle of cruelty even as we are distinctly aware of the pain. Perhaps, because we are aware of the pain and cannot bear to hold it alone. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eIn the story of Psyche she learns she doesn’t have to overcome Venus’ wrath alone, either. Her sisters —as well as other goddesses like Persephone, aid her in completing the tasks assigned by Venus. Tasks which were specifically designed to be impossible for a mortal to accomplish. \u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThough the mythology of Psyche may be fictional it is an excellent lesson wrapped in metaphor for all of us: the cruelty of our society’s paradigms of reality cannot be dealt with alone. We need our sisters, each other and the unshakable conviction we will not pass down the chains that bound us.\u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cspan\u003eThis necklace is made in two parts: braided strips of vintage fabrics sewn and attached to two brass bead caps.
